Welcome
Carmen Giannattasio possesses the style, technique, range, vocal beauty and presence to number her among the rare breed of dramatic sopranos who excel in the greatest bel canto operas of Rossini, Donizetti and Bellini. Her stage presence has been compared to the great Italian film heroine Anna Magnani by the Telegraph and, following the 2006 release of her Donna del Lago CD, Andrew Clark declared in the Financial Times, ‘Behold a prima donna is born’. In 2011, she was the protagonist in Opera-Rara’s Gramophone Award-winning recording of Rossini’s Ermione. Carmen has a busy year ahead performing across the globe, including her return to LA Scala and Los Angeles Opera in Falstaff, her An Der Wien debut in a new production of IL Trovatore and her Asia debut in China with La Traviata and Japan in concert in Tokyo and Osaka.
